Bixby U.S. Privacy Notice
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., along with our affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “
Samsung”), respects your concerns about privacy. This Bixby Privacy Notice (this “
Privacy Notice”) applies to the personal information we obtain through Bixby (the “
Service”) from U.S. residents (unless stated otherwise). It does not apply to information collected by other apps, websites or services provided by Samsung. If you are a minor (under 18 years old), please refer to our Bixby
U.S. Privacy Notice for Minors with a parent or guardian, which will help you understand better what information we collect and how we use it.
This Privacy Notice supplements the Samsung Privacy Policy (available at
https://www.samsung.com/us/account/privacy-policy) (“
Samsung Privacy Policy”), and provides additional information about how we may collect, use and share your personal information in connection with the Service. In the event any portion of this Privacy Notice conflicts with the Samsung Privacy Policy, the relevant provisions of this Privacy Notice will govern.
You can activate Bixby in many ways. For example, on displays, you can say "Hi Bixby" or press the invoke button on each device. The status indicator on your device, such as an on-screen indicator or flashing LEDs on top of your device, lets you know when Bixby is activated.
Information We Obtain
Through the Service, we may obtain information about you in various ways. We will only collect information that is reasonably required to provide Bixby and the purposes described herein.
Information You Provide Directly
• Bixby interactions: information you exchange with Bixby through your interactions and inputs with Bixby, including recordings of your wake-up command and voice commands, as well as content you request to be read aloud.
Information We Obtain By Automated Means
• Samsung account information, including your password;
• Contact and biographical information, including date of birth and the phone numbers;
• Information about your Service-enabled devices, such as hardware and software information, configurations and settings, and device and other unique identifiers, including IP address;
• Information about your usage of the Service, including about how, when, and for how long you use the Service, the devices and/or services that you choose to connect to the Service (including third-party devices and services), and other Samsung and third-party apps and services on your devices. We also may obtain information from other Samsung and third-party apps and services that are accessed or used by you as part of the Bixby commands you make (including content in such apps and services), which depend on the specific voice commands you make (including from social media, email, and instant messaging apps); and
• Location information, including with your separate consent, your precise geolocation; Your device will notify you when the Service attempts to access your location. Please note that if you do not allow the Service to collect your precise geolocation, you may not be able to use all of the features of the Service.
We also may collect other information about you, your devices and apps, and your use of the Service in ways that we describe to you at the time of collection or otherwise with your consent.
How We Use the Information We Obtain
We may use the information we obtain through the Service for the purposes described in the Samsung Privacy Policy and to:
• identify and authenticate you so you may use the Service;
• provide you with the Service, including delivering content and responses tailored to you and the way you interact with the Service; and
• interact with other Samsung and third-party devices, apps, features or services;
• respond to your requests, inquiries, and instructions made through or about the Service;
• deliver marketing communications via email and push notifications with your consent, including personalized communications.
Audio Recording Review
If you decide to opt in for review, including human review, of your audio recordings to troubleshoot and respond to any issues related to your use of Bixby, we will store your audio recordings associated with your identifier for a period of one month.
After one month, your audio recordings will be disassociated from any identifier and stored for a total period of one year. These recordings are pooled with other recordings, and a small percentage of those recordings may be selected for review to improve and train Bixby.
You can opt in by going into the Bixby settings > Privacy settings > Allow audio recording review. You can withdraw your consent at any time through these settings.
This opt-in will apply to the Samsung account you use to sign in to Bixby, and will apply to any device that you sign in to with that Samsung account. If you do not opt in to the review of your audio recordings, your audio recordings will be deleted once your requested command has been provided. This also means there will be no audio recordings to help you troubleshoot or resolve any issues related to your use of Bixby.
Information Sharing
As you use the Service, we share the types of information we collect (as described above) to the following entities for the purposes described above.

Subsidiaries and Affiliates: Samsung branded and non-branded subsidiaries and affiliates which we control or own;
•
Business Partners: Third parties who we work together with. These business partners control and manage your personal information. For example, we may share your information with content or feature providers, e.g. when you make a voice command, the results may be provided from one of these content providers.

Service Providers/Processors: Carefully selected companies that provide services for or on behalf of us. These providers are also committed to protecting your information.
•
Other Parties When Required by Law or as Necessary to Protect Our Services: For example, it may be necessary by law, legal process, or court order from governmental authorities to disclose your information. They may also seek your information from us for the purposes of law enforcement, national security, anti-terrorism, or other issues that are related to public security.
•
Other Parties with Your Consent or at Your Direction: In addition to the disclosures described in this Privacy Notice, we share information about you with third parties when you separately consent to or request such sharing.
State Law Privacy Rights
United States residents have rights and choices concerning their personal information. See below for more information about privacy rights that are available to you, subject to applicable law.
• Access: accessing and confirming details about what we collected and to provide your personal information to you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format;
• Deletion: deletion of your personal information. Please note, deletion of your personal information may also result in a loss of access to the Service. We will not delete certain data that we are required to keep according to law;
• Correction: correction of inaccuracies in your personal information;
• Requesting a list of specific third parties and/or categories of third parties to whom we have disclosed personal information; and
• Opting out of the collection or processing of sensitive data.
Additionally, you can make certain feature-specific choices about how your personal information is processed, such as whether to enable the collection of personal information through a voice recognition feature, on your device. You can also make changes to these choices by accessing the Service’s privacy settings.
You can exercise your privacy rights, submit a request as an authorized agent on an individual’s behalf, or appeal our decision with respect to a request you have submitted by going to our privacy rights portal (available at

How Long We Keep Your Information
We do not store your personal information for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and/or for which you have consented. Subject to applicable law, when your information is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize your information (including backups) within 45 days (or otherwise consistent with applicable laws or your consent).
How to Submit a Privacy Rights Request
To submit a privacy rights request, such as an access, deletion or correction request, go to our US Privacy Portal website (
https://www.samsung.com/us/privacy/) or call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864).
You may request details from us about the information we have collected from and about you including the categories of personal information we have collected about you, such as device information, basic usage information and voice information. When possible, we will provide your information in an industry standard format, such as .csv, .xlsx, or other similar format.
Updates to This Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time and without prior notice to you to reflect changes in our personal information practices with respect to the Service or changes in applicable law. We will provide you with advanced noticed of any material changes by notifying you through the Service or email if we have one. We will indicate at the top of this Privacy Notice when it was most recently updated.
Bixby U.S. Privacy Notice for Minors
We (Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and our related companies) care about your privacy. This Privacy Notice applies if you live in the United States and will explain how we handle information about you when you use Bixby (the “
Service”). If you have any questions while reading this Privacy Notice, we recommend you sit with a parent or guardian to help you review and understand this Privacy Notice.
Please note that this is a simplified version of the Bixby U.S. Privacy Notice made for minors (those under 18 years of age), not a substitute.
Information We Get
When you use the Service, we may collect, and you might share with us, certain information about you. which is reasonably needed to provide Bixby and for the other reasons described below. These include:
Information You Choose to Give Us

Your commands and conversations: We collect information about when you ask Bixby to do something or answer Bixby, including with your voice. The voice commands may be collected, including when you ask Bixby to read content aloud for you.
Information We Get Automatically
•
Samsung account information: your profile information; and
•
Information that lets us learn more about you: your biographical information, including date of birth and phone number.

Information about what you’re using: This is information about your device and other devices not from Samsung connected to Bixby, like what kind of device you are using and how you are using it, what settings you have turned on or off on your device, and information that lets us know which device is yours (these are called identifiers). We also may obtain information from other Samsung and third-party apps and services that are used by you (including content in such apps and services), which depend on the specific voice commands you make (including from social media, email, and instant messaging apps).
•
Information about how you use Bixby: How, when, and for how long you use Bixby and other apps and services and the devices you connect to Bixby, and your Bixby app settings. We also collect responses from Bixby and other apps and services.
•
Information about where you are: We may collect information about your location, including by using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. If you (or your parent or guardian) allow us, we may collect information about your location to tell us better and more exactly where you are (this is called geolocation). Your device will let you know when we are collecting your geolocation.
We may also collect other information about you, your devices and apps, and how you use the Service when you allow us. When we do, we will explain it to you.
The Samsung Privacy Policy (available at

Samsung Privacy Policy”) also describes other information we may collect automatically when you use the Service, including through technology called cookies and third-party analytics services.
How We Use the Information
We may use the information we get through the Service and use them for only the purposes below. We may not use your information for some of the purposes depending on how old you are. For example, if you’re under 13, we won’t use your information for personalized ads or marketing.
• make sure it is you that is using the Service;
• let you use the Service, including interacting with other Samsung and third-party apps and services, as well as providing content and responses depending on you interact with the Service;
• make the service better;
• show and provide you with features you might like;
• let you ask questions and give instructions through or about the Service and respond to them; and
• let you use apps and services that aren’t from Samsung if they’re available.
Sharing Your Information
Where applicable, we may share your information with other Samsung companies, business partners, and service providers that help us run the Service. Sometimes, we are required by law to share information for legal purposes, or public safety. Additionally, we may share your information when you give us permission or request it.
Specifically, business partners are other companies who control and manage your information. For the Service, they are content or feature providers. For example, when you make a voice command, the results may be provided from one of these content providers.
If you don't understand, please ask your parent or guardian to help you understand who we share your information with.
How Long We Keep Your Information
Once your information is no longer needed, subject to applicable law, we will either delete it or anonymize it (meaning we won’t know it’s your information) , including backups, .within 45 days (or the time period required by law or that you consented to).
What Can You Ask Us To Do With Your Information?
If you live in the United States, you have rights and choices. You (or your parent or guardian) have the right to ask us the following, subject to applicable law:
• give you a copy of the information we have about you and in a way other devices can read this information
• update or fix your information
• delete your information. If you ask us to delete or stop using your information, some parts of the Service might not work as expected. Always talk to your parents or guardian if you are not sure
Some features in the Service may also let you make choices about how we use your information, such as to stop collecting your information using a voice recognition feature. You can change your mind about the choices you make by going into the Service’s privacy settings.
You (or if you’re under 13, your parent or guardian) can make these requests by calling us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864) or on the Privacy Rights Portal (available at

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know before we update this Privacy Notice through the Service or email if we have one. You can always see when we last made changes to this Privacy Notice by checking the date at the top.
